Vegan meetup at Ray’s Pizzeria

Around 15-20 of us vegans decided to meet at Ray’s Pizzeria in Bandra. They are one of the few restaurants in Mumbai which use the word ‘vegan’ in their menu card. Vegan is comparatively a new term in India though gaining popularity in Mumbai. Its encouraging when restaurants go that extra mile to display vegan dishes as that is a great way to spread the word. Some of pics of the restaurant are here.

I loved their quote : Cheese is only one of the 12,733,028 possible pizza toppings. Even gostana serves vegan sandwiches and salads. They use hummus and kidney bean spreads and allow pets and even have a pet menu! I havent been there in a long time.

After the pizza lunch we went to Birdsong café and had their vegan carrot cake and choclate drink which was pure cocoa and nothing else. It was thick and creamy and heavenly. And now we have Starbucks in Mumbai! And they serve coffee with soya milk as they do in every other part of the world. Even Café Coffee Day has in their menu Vegan shake! So its happening guys! Its happening!
